The Friday features #1

Hi there and welcome to my new weekly series.
I will try to cast some light on things that I find inspiring and I hope that you find it inspiring too. Everything from music to movies will be brought up so that you get a wide spectre on things to get inspiration from. As well as things outside of DA I will feature some amazing works that I've seen in the digital category.


Movie:


My first feature is the norwegian movie Flåklypa Grand Prix (released under the English title "Pinchcliffe Grand Prix")


Flåklypa is a Norwegian stop motion-animated feature film directed by Ivo Caprino. It was released in 1975 and is based on characters from a series of books by Norwegian cartoonist and author Kjell Aukrust. It is the most widely-seen Norwegian film of all time, having sold some 5.5 million tickets since its release to a population which currently numbers just 4.7 million.

Music:


My first pick is the song "Sægló pur" by Sigur Rós. Sigur Rós  are an Icelandic post-rock band with melodic, classical and minimalist elements. The band is known for its ethereal sound and lead singer Jónsi Birgisson's falsetto voice. This songs have captured my imagination and I enjoy listening to it alot.

Seccond is White Apple Tree with the song "Snowflakes". White Apple Tree consist of a single person, Ryan Marshall Lawhon, in May 06 he purchased a cheapo 8 track recording system off ebay and there he began the White Apple Tree project you're experiencing today.

Last, but not least, The Cool Kids with the song Black Mags.
The Cool Kids is a hip hop duo from Chicago, Illinois and Detroit, Michigan. The duo consists of Antoine "Mikey Rocks" Reed (originally from Matteson, Illinois) and Evan "Chuck Inglish" Ingersoll (originally from Mount Clemens, Michigan).
The Cool Kids' music has been released primarily via their MySpace page, but have been signed to the independent Chocolate Industries via their own label C.A.K.E. Recordings. Reed and Ingersoll have collaborated with several other musical artists and made appearances in numerous media. I know many of you have heard this song, but the beat here is so sick!
